Enabling Accessibility Funding Announcement

The HUB Community Space- A Place for ALL of us.

Improving Accessibility for people with mobility challenges. Project # 017396425

The Hub: A place for community by community – building, sharing, thriving
The Cowichan Station Area Association, home of the HUB at Cowichan Station, is thrilled to announce we are the grateful recipients of an Enabling Accessibility Grant. This project is funded in part by the Government of Canada’s Enabling Accessibility Fund.
The purpose of this project is to replace & upgrade two main floor washrooms to be fully accessible, move the staff & volunteer office to the main floor for everybody’s use, and upgrade the main entrance doors to become fully accessible.
We plan to begin this project in the spring or summer of 2022 and have it completed by October 2023.

Celebrating Inclusion at The HUB

As many community members know, our mandate here at the CSAA is one of positive inclusion for everybody! In order to reflect this message visually, we have posted Progress Pride Flag decals on our doors. These colourful decals bring more life to our community centre and aim to signal safety and invite a welcoming feeling for all. We are proud to honour inclusion here at the Hub and support our LGBTQ2SIA+ community members! Do you know what this acronym stands for? It means Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Two Spirit, Intersex, Asexual and the plus sign at the end is intended to represent and acknowledge the myriad of sexual and gender identities and expressions that exist. The Black and Brown stripes are to honour Black and Brown LGBTQ2SIA+ people. The HUB is committed to representing and welcoming all community members, and celebrating all love and identities.

If you have classifieds (missing pets, rentals, etc.), projects around the community (graffiti removal, lawn cutting, etc.) please forward them to: so they can be added to the board.
